EXCERPT

A Brief Note from the Authors, Delphi and Pat

Our school is different because the Sanctuary School has risen out of the land. It is a wise place where animals can speak and kids can hear them and talk back!

It is a place where we all respect one another and practice being kind and loving.

There is a secret here--most people don't know it--well, some kids do!

When you mix respect for all life with kindness and a real loving partnership, the mind goes to another place entirely where you can think with your heart.

Give this school a chance. It is better than any other school on the planet.

What the Kids Need to Teach

Kids are teachers before they can be taught. They have so much information within them and we have to listen to them when they are speaking!

I, Delphi, have the ability to hear babies and understand their talk. That is because I am very open to them and consider them to be the smartest of all the human inhabitants. Babies speak straight from their souls. They haven't gotten the human talk yet and so what they say is quite pure and heaven-sent. If you believe that babies know a lot and can teach you many things about heaven, you will be right where you need to be--the heart-mind. Most children speak from that place and they learn better when you speak from that same place.

In the classroom and in the home, you have to provide the opportunity for kids to teach you. At least half the time spent in school should be given to listening to the children and learning from them. Education should come out of children. Their hearts know a great deal. Teachers have to take time to listen and to create ways to inspire children to divulge what they already know.

Many people realize that the heart has a brain. It is rarely used, except by kids. The Children of the New World make a point of speaking from the heart, and they like to think from that place too. When you have a teacher who recognizes the value of the heart-mind, there is no end to what the kids can do.

Listen with your heart! And remember to ask the animal members to also take part in making the school fun and exciting for all! By the way, if you would like to learn how to communicate with us, you must listen with your heart.

One more point I would like to make is let the kids map their day. And do not stick to the same schedule. Be different every day. Kids like surprises, don't forget.
