Awakening to Your Inner Child
Deep in your heart dwells the Miracle
Child. When you were first born, you were that Child. Everyone
was your friend. You knew no enemies. The natural state of the
child is love. We are taught to hate, to divide, to own.
It is quite possible that you were carefully
trained to think like others. In school you have studied books
of history, memorized "important dates" of wars and
treaties, battles and victories. All this to pass a test and
to move to the next grade and then to the next. And there probably
was no question in your mind. Oh, you may not have appreciated
the homework and the days of study and toil, but you most likely
accepted the way. And when it was time to graduate, you wore
the hat of graduation. People clapped and shook your hand and
wished you success.
What are the possibilities when children
do not believe in the history books and find no reason to memorize
dates of wars and rebellions? What happens to our carefully thought
out system of education and plans for survival?
What are the answers when children find
the present mode of education boring and even not true?
As teachers and parents, what can we
do about ourselves?
The Quest
The Indigo Children, Children of the
New World (or new system!) have come to earth to realize with
us that the present system in which we find ourselves must be
changed. The questions the children ask are challenging the very
roots of our way of life.
"What use is it to me to know the
dates of world conflicts?" "Why is it important for
me to memorize and memorize when I have so much knowledge in
me?" "Why do you insist on teaching me what is good
and what is bad, when I know myself that we are all a family
made in goodness and in love?" "Why can't I, the Indigo
Child, teach you, for I have much to give and much to share."
When we can approach the New Child in
our classroom, home and community in the knowledge that they
do have much to give, the wonders of true education will be experienced
between child and teacher, child and parent.
By awakening to your Inner Child, and
permitting your Magical Child to fill your awareness, you will
draw the New Children to you. They will trust you, and through
this trust that they have in you will be born a living school
of intelligence and creative genius. A school born of the Inner
Child.
